Your Rizq Is Already Written
Sometimes, we find ourselves consumed by worry about our income, our soulmate, our career, and our future. It’s a very human experience. But in these moments of anxiety, it helps to remember something deeply reassuring: our rizq, our sustenance and provision, has already been written by Allah, even before we were born.
Allah says in the Qur’an:
“And there is no creature on earth but that upon Allah is its provision…”
(Surah Hud, 11:6)
This means that your sustenance is guaranteed. It isn’t something you need to chase with fear or desperation. Imagine a bird it leaves its nest each morning with an empty stomach, yet returns full by the evening. The bird works for its rizq, but it doesn’t carry anxiety; it trusts its Lord. In the same way, you may apply for jobs, send proposals, or try to build a business but your ultimate rizq doesn’t lie in the number of applications you send or the approval of others. It lies with Ar-Razzaq, the One who provides endlessly.
Sometimes we feel stressed because we think our income is controlled by our boss, or our future is in the hands of society. For example, if your contract ends or you’re passed over for a promotion, it can feel like you’ve lost everything. But in reality, that was never your rizq. Allah may close one door only to lead you to another better, more suited to your growth, or even one that protects you from harm you cannot see. Just as someone may lose a job only to discover a new opportunity that brings more peace and balance into their life.
Allah reminds us in the Qur’an:
“Indeed, Allah is the continual Provider, the firm possessor of strength.”
(Surah Adh-Dhariyat, 51:58)
He provides not just wealth, but health, peace, love, and guidance all in perfect measure. Perhaps you’re single now and praying for a righteous spouse. It might feel delayed, but Allah knows exactly when the right heart will arrive not too early, not too late. Maybe He’s using this time to prepare both of you to meet in the best way. Or maybe He’s protecting you from someone not meant for you, even if everything seems perfect on the surface.
So today, pause and take a deep breath. Let go of the heaviness in your chest. Do your part put in effort, seek knowledge, make du’a, and strive with ihsan that is, with sincerity and excellence. But after doing all of that, place your full trust in Allah. He promises:
“…And whoever relies upon Allah then He is sufficient for him…”
(Surah At-Talaq, 65:3)
That means He will carry you, sustain you, and provide for you in ways you could never plan. He may send comfort through a stranger’s kindness, or guidance through a difficult trial. He never forgets you not even for a blink of an eye. Even the silent prayers you keep deep inside, the tears you wipe alone, and the dreams you haven’t dared to speak aloud Allah knows them all.
So keep walking. Keep striving. Keep making du’a. But know in your heart that what’s written for you will reach you even if it’s hidden beneath two mountains. And what’s not written for you will never stay, even if you hold it tightly with both hands. That’s not a loss it’s a mercy. Allah only withholds because He intends to give you something better, in His perfect timing.
So have tawakkul. Trust His plan. Trust His knowledge. Trust His love. Because when you put your full trust in Allah, you are never truly in need you are already held, guided, and provided for in ways beyond your imagination.
