This is How You Find Light in the Darkest Moments

You know, when we begin our day with an open heart and a clear mind, something amazing happens. We start to see life differently.

Instead of just seeing problems, we start to notice the wisdom behind them.
Instead of focusing on hardship, we begin to realize there might be a hidden opportunity in it.
And even when we feel disappointed, we learn that sometimes… that disappointment is just Allah redirecting us to something better, something we couldn’t even imagine.

For example, maybe you didn’t get that job you really wanted. You felt crushed, disappointed. But then, a few months later, a better opportunity came one that was more suited to your values, your skills, and even your mental health. That’s Allah’s plan in action.

But often, we don’t see it because we’re too focused on what we don’t have.
We get caught up comparing ourselves to others thinking about what’s missing, what we failed at, or what we lost. And because of that, we forget to appreciate what’s already in our lives the small things;
Like waking up in peace, having someone to talk to, having food on our plate, or even the ability to pray.

Gratitude gets buried under longing…
And peace gets overshadowed by frustration.

So today, I want to make a conscious choice.
Not just a thought… a real decision.

I choose to let go of negativity.
I choose to stop carrying the weight of every past mistake.
I choose to forgive not just others who hurt me, but myself, for the things I didn’t know, or couldn’t handle better.

I choose to smile even when life feels heavy.
Not because everything is perfect, but because I believe that things will get better.
Because I trust that Allah never leaves us empty.

Allah promises in the Qur’an

“If you are grateful, I will surely increase you in favor.” (Surah Ibrahim, 14:7)

That means, the more we practice gratitude, the more reasons we’ll find to be grateful.

Even something as small as saying,
“Alhamdulillah” when we wake up,
or writing down three blessings at the end of the day
these simple acts open our hearts to more peace and contentment.

Now, welcoming positivity doesn’t mean pretending that life is always good or easy. It just means choosing to believe that Allah’s wisdom is always behind what’s happening.
That when my heart is calm, and my trust is in Him,
He will provide.
He will guide.
And He will complete what feels broken or missing.

So whatever happens today whether it’s a challenge, a delay, or even a no
I choose peace over panic.
I choose faith over fear.
I choose to believe that everything is happening for a reason, even if I don’t understand it yet.

And most importantly, I choose to welcome positivity
Not because life is always good,
But because I know Allah is always good.
